StudentFlowering plants compete within plant communities to attract pollinators whether they’re specialist or generalist. The visitation of these pollinators then facilitate the successful reproduction of plant communities ensuring their survival.
My master‘s thesis focuses on the plant-pollinator interactions within a plant community and the respective consequences of a pollinator decline world. The project looks into the future aspect of such a world where the pollinators are rare and how it shapes the plant communities: their abundance and diversity.
I will be designing an experiment as part of my thesis to mimic the pollinator decline world to study its consequences on plants with the main focus on pollinator visitation and whether the visitations are by generalist or specialist pollinators.
