StudentThe flora in Switzerland is changing due to climate warming and land-use change. Additionally, new species have been introduced to Switzerland. For my master’s thesis, I aim to investigate the floral change in the canton of Grisons over the last hundred years.
By comparing historical data from the “Flora von Graubünden “ (Braun-Blanquet & Rübel, 1932) with an ongoing survey from the project “Flora Raetica”. My goal is to determine how many plant species have become extinct and how many new species have appeared in Grisons. I am also investigating the change in the ecological groups and indicator values. In my field work part, I want to focus on the disappearance of plant populations in various wetland locations.
